It's time for another long post again for what I did cosplay-wise in 2013! Gotta do this before my brain forgets errything.
This year, I got around to doing a lot of cosplays I'd wanted to do since last year so that was cool! I never ran out of ideas because of this, and once again, in the end I had too many I wanted to do so I had to cut a bunch... ;w; but there's always next year!
LET'S DO THIS (it's really hard trying to write while listening to the Phantom soundtrack but I DON'T WANT TO TURN IT OFF. There might be a lot of typos and incorrect grammar...lol).
Yui Hirasawa & Haruhi Suzumiya (K-On! and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - ConNooga
Orlem's a big Haruhi fan and I suggested he do Haruhi since he likes her so much, and I made the costume for him and he just wore my wig, hairband, ribbon and armband. I just had to make the sailor uniform top and skirt and I made it in about a week. I'm used to sailor uniform tops by now but I suck so bad! XD But he was happy with it and basically wore it to every con this year so that's happy~! I decided to cosplay Yui at this con since it'd be like a costume-swap with Orlem, and I didn't have to buy/make anything for it

Kashimashi cosplay was something we'd wanted to do since before we started cosplaying XD So naturally, I knew exactly what the designs looked like and had an idea of how I wanted to make it. I made both of these in about a week too. The hardest part was finding a short-sleeved white button up shirt... WHY do they not exist here?! I ended up buying long sleeved shirts and cutting the sleeves off XD I'm really proud of the patches; I drew them with fabric marker on white twill fabric and sewed them onto the one-piece skirts the morning of the con! XD These two characters match mine and Orlem's personalities perfectly btw lol.
Kamui (Gintama) - MTAC
Yay Gintama!!! I'm happy with the way this Chinese-style top came out; it's a huge improvement since I made Kagura's two years ago! And yay for already having some capris I could wear, so no pants-making! Basically I've had like... 3 people recognize the character (people also thought I was Kagura lol) but that's okay! XD It was fun cosplaying with my friend who was Gin! I borrowed an awesome umbrella from him as a prop so a huge thanks for him for that!!
Dark Magician Girl & Tea Gardner/Anzu Mazaki (Yugioh!) - MTAC
Probably my proudest cosplay I've made ever since I started making cosplays in October 2009! And I made it in like a week along with the Anzu cosplay, to boot! XD I can't really explain the process, since there really wasn't one and I had to think really fast and just plow through so I can't even remember how it went. After it was done I was so relieved and exhausted that I forgot everything basically lol! I'm especially happy about the little yellow belt thing; I like how I was able to make them stick out like in the art and on the figure! I'm also happy with the way Orlem's Anzu jacket came out since I really suck at making suit collars XD I was also able to make functional buttons for it so that was cool!
Lum (Urusei Yatsura) - Animazement
My 30th cosplay!!!! And coincidentally it happened to be Lum! <3 I grew up with Urusei Yatsura (my dad is a big fan) and it's my ultimate favorite manga hands down (with Gintama as a super duper close second)!!! I never thought I'd have the guts to do this version of Lum but I just said I'm just gonna do it and I really don't care lol. I started gathering materials for this cosplay back in November of last year. It was really fun making her costume too! I got to draw all the tiger stripes so they looked exactly how I wanted and I wanted to make the costume as close to the original manga as possible. It was also my first time with contacts! And I added fangs and pointy ears for extra detail. I was so scared to walk out in this costume obviously lol, but after a while I got used to it and I really enjoyed wearing it! Got to meet so many Lum fans so it was awesome!! Also got mistaken for Cham Cham (Samurai Shodown) too haha! XD
Kareha & Asa (Shuffle!) - SeishunCon
I made a Shuffle uniform for me and Orlem for a group for SeishunCon with my friends! I love the uniform design and it wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be to make. And this costume is when I finally FINALLY perfected my sailor collar patterning skills :I Now I can make any sailor collar fit perfectly and I'm so happy and proud I figured it all out!! ;A; Ohhh yeah! Also, I'm happy our uniforms fit in well with the Bodyline ones they had! Thanks to

Omg I'd been wanting to cosplay this character for 2 years! And it was once again about to be put off for financial reasons, but I just decided to go with it since I didn't want another year to pass :I All the putting off and indecisiveness made me have less time to work on this cosplay so was tough but it went pretty smoothly and I love it! ;A; I'm proud of all the details I put into the costume (thanks to Orlem's figure) and people were happy to see Queen's Blade cosplay! Hoping to be able to make her spear at one point ;A; As for Orlem's Heart costume, it turned out super cute! I made a decent button up shirt I'm proud of (this time I didn't forget to interface the collar like I did for Schrodinger orz); this was another cosplay that I'd wanted to do in the past, but Orlem did it since he's the fan of the game!!
Roll Caskett (Megaman 64/Megaman Legends/Rockman DASH) - DragonCon
The second of 3 cosplays I was trying to finish for DragonCon. This one was easy and didn't take much time! My belt broke like the second I wore it though because I'm stupid and I accidentally cut it where I shouldn't have and attempted to sew it back together but it decided to fall apart anyway :T Other than that though, I love how this one turned out and I loved the responses from all the Megaman Legends fans! >w<
Schrodinger (Hellsing) - DragonCon
My favorite cosplay from this year!! I'm proud of the way it came out and I love the character design!! So cute!! I especially love how his shirt is yellow (my favorite color!!) although it was a pain in the butt trying to find that yellow fabric. Cat ears are the best :I
Asa Shigure & Shiori Shiomiya (Shuffle! & The World God Only Knows) - AWA
I cosplayed Asa using :iconManRay89):'s Asa wig for Thursday of AWA for fun! And I made a Shiori cosplay for Orlem for the weekend. That costume was kind of a challenge - finding the right colors (all different shades of pink that would look fine together lol) and the uniform didn't make any sense to me for some reason. It came out fine though and I thought it looked really cute! ^^
...And that's it! 8 cosplays I made for myself and 6 for Orlem, so that's a total of 14! Not bad! XD I already have a ton of cosplays I wanna do for next year and I'm sure I'm gonna be adding a bunch more during the year! XD Can't wait till the next con! Although I'm enjoying not rushing around making cosplays like a madman for once! XD

DragonCon 2013!

So I can't believe DragonCon is already over for this year! I hope everyone who got to go had a great con!!
I was especially super excited to go this year since I basically missed out last year. I had 3 new costumes planned out and one new one for my boyfriend, and since I was being semi-smart and started in the middle of July (I would've actually started later if I was being good about spending my money but ... no), I was actually able to finish everything on time with the exception of a prop which I couldn't figure out a good way to make. So yay!!! Pics will be up soon, I think lol. I cosplayed Dark Magician Girl from Yugioh! on Friday, Alleyne from Queen's Blade (new) and Roll from Megaman 64/Legends (new) on Saturday, and Lum from Urusei Yatsura and Schrodinger from Hellsing (new) on Sunday. I was super excited about all of my cosplays so it was hard figuring out when to wear them but I did the best I could. I got a lot of compliments so that really made me happy
Anyway, it was great running into all of my friends there and hanging out! That's what makes the con what it is! 
Now I gotta go back to cleaning up all our DCon stuff that's all over the apartment and working lol. And getting rid of this cold or whatever it is :I Oh well, it's just a short period of time before AWA comes up! Can't wait!

Cosplays 2012

Warning: Super long post of me just rambling about random stuff about my cosplays I did in 2012. Don't feel bad if you don't read it! X3;
2012 was an unexpectedly packed year for me, convention-going and otherwise. I had a great year with awesome friends new and old, wonderful family vacations, and super fun cons! Also got to go to Walt Disney World with friends for the first time, took up running as a hobby, and celebrated 10 years with my wonderful boyfriend Orlem at YoumaCon!
Sooo here are the cosplays I made this year!
Kyou & Ryou Fujibayashi (CLANNAD) – MomoCon
Orlem and I did this for a friend's group. I had the option to buy the uniform but I wanted to make my own since I love the way the sleeves are big and open and how the uniform fits around the body. I had a lot of fun making it and wearing it with my friends! It was also fun being Orlem's twin this time haha!
Kotarou Katsura (Gintama) – MTAC
My first attempt at making a kimono! And it went pretty well all thanks to my dad's yukata hand-made by my grandmother. I had that to look at so it made the process easy and now I know how to make kimonos (kinda)! I procrastinated so I didn't finish the haori (jacket) till after the con and then I didn't wear it for another half year, but whenever I did wear it, I was really happy! I also got the wig for it from my sister for Christmas lol.
Kurumu Kurono & Mizore Shirayuki (Rosario + Vampire) – MTAC
These two were last minute so they were rushed, but I was able to do it in time because the two costumes were relatively easy. We already had the wigs so all I really had to do was make Kurumu's hair band and skirt and Mizore's top, skirt and leg belt and then gather all the other stuff like socks and vests. People were excited to see Rosario + Vampire cosplay for some reason, and Orlem makes a cute Mizore so it was fun!! ^^
Karasuba & Musubi (Sekirei) – Animazement
My dream cosplay that I didn't get to do last year! I've seen about 2 Musubis in the past, but never any of the other characters, and I thought it'd be neat to be Musubi and Karasuba (and I can't really pull off any of the other well-endowed characters lol). Not too many people recognized the cosplay but when they did, it was great! I had a great time making the costumes too, and I think it's one of my proudest creations to date ;w; I made the costume while marathoning Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha lol!
Rena Ryuuguu (Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni) – SeishunCon
Last minute cosplay that I made for SeishunCon to be in a group with my friends cosplaying Keiichi, Shion, and Rika. I watched all of Higurashi in the summer and got really into it and really really loved Rena so this was a no-brainer for me when I found out they were doing a group and they didn't have a Rena! This cosplay is probably the one I had to spend the least money on, since I basically had all the materials and wig laying around at home. The hat was a challenge and it's not really all that great, but whatever! This cosplay also broke my "K" streak I had going on from last year starting with Koyori... Koyori Kokubunji > Kyou (Fujibayashi) > Kotarou Katsura > Kurumu Kurono > Karasuba. No idea how that happened, but it's really weird lol.
Nobume Imai (Gintama) – DragonCon
I just realized that I decided on A LOT of 2012 cosplays on what wigs I owned and which ones I could reuse. And now I remember that I was actually trying to do that since it's such a waste to wear a wig only so many times (even though it's super fun to buy new ones… ;w
! Anyway, I decided to cosplay her after I warmed up to this character and I had the wig for it. I wasn't really wanting to make another Shinsengumi outfit but it was easier since I had done it before. Only got to wear it at DragonCon for like a couple hours before I left for California, but I enjoyed it! Also reinforced the fact that I suck at being a serious character lol…
Azusa Nakano Maid Version (K-On!) – AWA
My friends had invited me and Orlem to their maid K-On! Group for AWA like a year before this, and I'm happy we actually went through with it! The maid dress design is super cute and fun to make, and it was my first time making an apron. Once again, no new wigs were needed since we'd cosplayed K-On before XD The group was lots of fun and we were going crazy most of the time dancing and running around because we were so hyper on Saturday night, but it made of one of the most memorable con experiences~! Some people actually recognized us as a K-On group so that was really cool too!!
Mousse (Ranma ½) – AWA
Another idea my friend and I had been tossing around for like a year. I love Ranma ½ and wouldn't ever miss an opportunity to cosplay from it since you don't see it around too much anymore. I made the cosplay super baggy so it was comfy! I loved cosplaying with my friend's Shampoo, although she had to leave and we only got to do it for a couple hours!
Moritaka Mashiro (Bakuman) – YoumaCon
A cosplay I'd been planning to do for the whole year, but was never sure when to do it since it's simple and kinda minor. Once again, I was able to do it because I already had the wig. I love recycling wigs! XD This one's a really simple cosplay and really comfortable because it's just street clothes. Sadly no one (except one girl looked at my prop and gave me a hug XD) recognized it lol but I don't blame them. At least I got my friends all fired up to do a group some time though! XD
Haruhi Suzumiya Christmas Version (Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuuutsu) - Cosplayers on Ice
Super duper last minute cosplay. I wanted to make some kind of Christmas outfit, but I wasn't sure who to pick between Sayaka (Madoka) and Haruhi. And then I gave up the whole idea thinking I didn't have enough time, but then I got all crazy about it and bought all the stuff two nights before and finished it the day of. That sucked. It's made all crappy and the white fluffy stuff sheds everywhere but I sure do like the hairband!
Aaaand those are my cosplays from 2012! 10 total for me 4 for Orlem, so that's 14 I made this year. I'm hoping I'll be able to do the ones I planned for this year, but we'll have to see. Thank you for reading my super long post! Lol!

I know I'm a little late, but Happy 2013 everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday and new years! Can't believe 2012 is already over, but it sure was a packed year! I don't know this year will bring, but I hope it will be an exciting and eventful year for everyone, with new resolutions, plans, and goals!!
I still have A LOT of catching up to do on dA >< I'm sorry I haven't been able to look at your deviations, or respond to all the comments and faves! I promise I'm not ignoring them ;A; And I hope I'm not spamming too much stuff on here. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to upload and such.
That's about it for my update. I'd like to make a separate journal to talk about the cosplays I did in 2012 as well as some other stuff that happened, etc. Please take a look if you're interested

Sloooowwwwly Updating...

Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I've updated on here! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the last few days of Fall! I've been really busy basically since Labor Day weekend; I've been traveling somewhere like every month and going to all kinds of events!! x.x But it's been fun and I've got a lot of pics I'd like to upload and I'm working on that right now~. Now I'm just busy with holiday stuff but that's not that bad, so hopefully I can get all updated on dA soon and catch up with everyone's stuff! Anyway, hope everyone is doing well and Happy Holidays!!
